I am on a seersucker kick at the moment, and for good reason! This lovely seersucker and lace shirtdress was meant for summer days meandering around the countryside. And so, my friends, that is exactly what I did.
This shirtdress is darling, and its blue and white stripes are right up my alley. Not to mention it has the sweetest lace sleeves and collar – an unexpected touch that makes this dress feel extra special. Plus, it is lightweight and totally breezy.
I paired this shirtdress with my favorite pale yellow sandals. (I also wore them here as part of another fave look.) Although I didn’t carry a handbag, the dress’ pockets would work splendidly in lieu of one. Just kidding. But this dress really does have pockets, and who doesn’t love that?!
I am also wearing my go-to pearl stud earrings, oversized sunnies and a simple skinny headband. As everyone knows, less is more in the country. For proof, just watch Marie Antoinette (the Sofia Coppola version, of course).
When I did leave the property, it was for a good cause – to pick up fresh croissants from the boulangerie and cheese from the fromagerie. (Nothing is in the same place in this town!) Luckily, the car perfectly matches my shoes so I didn’t mind. Some may think that this is taking matchy-matchy to a whole new (sick) level, but I think it’s fate. 😉
Now for a recap of the day. I wore a pretty dress. Wandered around aimlessly (it was splendid) with my dog Charlie in tow. Ran down a hill barefoot, which is just as fun now as it was as a child by the way. I fed horses. Had a dance party with some pretty cool toddlers. (Naturally, it was all Justin Bieber and Calvin Harris. Is there any other kind of dance party?!) Bought some seriously tasty treats. Matched my shoes to the car. (How amazing is that?!) Oh! And ate, drank and was merry. A pretty good day, indeed!
Now that you know what I have been up to, I would love to hear about your summer plans! Drop a note – I would love to hear from you!
