1 Bag, 1 Pair of Shoes, 3 Very Different Looks

The proper accessories can be incredibly versatile. (And, like the ones I am talking about here, they don’t even have to be super high-end investment pieces. Even better, right?)  If you buy strategically, you can get a lot of mileage out of just one bag and one pair of shoes. Besides, even for a girl with a lot of options, knowing which accessories will carry you through a variety of occasions comes in handy when packing for a holiday.

Today I am showcasing three very different looks, all worn with the same Ferragamo shoes and bag. In fact, I changed the focus of this post when I realized that I was wearing them on three separate occasions only weeks apart. (Total accident by the way!)

Spring - Classic White Shift Dress and Jacket - Bow Shoes and Bag_

My first outfit, featured in this post, is the smartest of the three looks – something you could wear to meet clients, attend a baby shower or host Mother’s Day brunch. Here, an ivory sheath dress and a matching twill coat work with the nude patent shoes and bag for an effortless, turned out look.

I wore the same shoe and bag combo with the next outfit, but went for a very casual look, perfect for the day I spent meandering through a local street fair (dog in tow). I wore blue and white striped seersucker shorts with ruffle detailing along the waist, a short-sleeve top with a bow accent and my favorite headband, which is also adorned with a bow. (What can I say? I like my bows! 😉 )

The third look is more refined than look 2, but still relaxed – just the right balance for brunch with the girls. Here, I paired pink shorts (they have a charming vine print and scallop hem) with a sleeveless silk button down and a cashmere tee, which kept any lingering chilly air at bay.

These three outfits are incredibly different, but the same shoes and bag work with each look.

So, what is it about these accessories that makes them so versatile? For starters, both are neutral, simple and timeless. Also, the small block heel on the shoe gives you more options than flats or a stiletto heel would. The low heel is just high enough to elongate your legs and elevate your outfit for a more elegant look. On the flip side, the heel is still low enough to look cute and appropriate with more casual pieces like shorts. Plus, the bow detail on both adds a little interest and personality, which is always a good thing. (As I mentioned, I love my bows!)

Clearly, these accessories are big winners in my closet.

What about you? I would love to hear how you dress up or dress down your favorite accessories!
